Sunshine Foundation’s mission is to answer the dreams of children from income-limited families who are chronically ill, physically challenged or have been abused. They fly the child and their immediate family to Orlando, all expenses paid, to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation away from hospitals, surgeries and medical treatments. Opened in 1990, the Dream Village near Disney World is a 22-acre resort nestled in a fairy-tale setting and offers amenities and activities, all designed to be accessible for wheelchairs and other special needs. Each cottage has a unique theme and the Dream Village has welcomed over 20,000 special children since its opening!
The Ronald McDonald House South Florida believes that when you change a child's life, you change a family's, which can change a community, and ultimately the world. They strive to be part of the change and part of the solution in improving the lives of children and their families by providing programs that strengthen families during their most difficult and challenging times, by focusing on the critical needs of children, celebrating the diversity of the programs they offer and the staff, volunteers and donors who make them possible, by staying true to their heritage of 32 years of responsible stewardship, as well as by operating with accountability and transparency.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida provides leadership by ensuring the consistent delivery of programs and services for all Floridians. In addition to providing clinical services, individualized case management, support groups, educational presentations, summer camp for kids, and a wide range of current epilepsy information and resources, the Foundation serves as the lead advocate for the rights and needs of people with epilepsy and seizure diseases and disorders at the local, county and state level.
The Institute's mission is to develop and rapidly apply the most promising research to treat and cure those now living with diabetes. Expanding collaborative alliances with other leading centers of research, thus creating a global intellectual environment, which streamlines research efforts worldwide and furthers our mission to cure diabetes.
Since 1982, Base Camp has served Central Florida children and families, to strive and help with the day- to-day challenges that children and families face. Their mission is to provide a year-round series of programs for children and families for those living with cancer, and other life-threatening hematologic related illnesses.
